The following narrative is a loose compendium of the life or our beloved cat Muzzle - whom passed away at the approximate age of 16 years. Most of it is an almost unbelieveable one week "adventure" this cat had in the city of San Francisco, California.

On Labor Day weekend 1983, a young cat came up the driveway of the Schild's house. According to the neighbors on Veronica Drive, this cat had been living in the neighborhood for quite awhile. Tanya, the Schild's daughter - went from house to house to find the owner. But nobody claimed this cat.

The family decided to keep the cat in their garage and gave it some food. That is when the mother said, "There comes Trouble!" With this she meant that cat was the new pet. The old family cat had passed away almost exactly a year earlier, and the mother liked the freedom of not having to care for a cat - as she was the one who had to clean up and see to it that food was available. So, this new cat was aptly named "Trouble".

The very next day, Linda (a neighbor) looked at this new cat and found out it was a female. Linda guessed it to be around five months old. At that time, Linda was training to be a veterinarian's assistant. Soon after this ground-breaking discovery, Linda took Trouble with her to school to be fixed. After Trouble recovered from the trauma of this experience, she led a fairly active life and loved to catch a mouse or bird now and then. In August 1994, Tanya and her brother Ron had an idea to take Trouble for a visit to Tanya's apartment in San Francisco - where Tanya lived at the time.

On Sunday August 14th, Ron took the cat in the kitty carrier (more like a wax covered cardboard box with large holes) and travelled to San Francisco. Almost there, Trouble got antsy and made horrible sounding noises. So, Ron stopped on a nice street in the Pacific Heights area. He hoped to calm her down by letting her out of the box for a few minutes. As he opened the car door, Trouble ran out and ran as fast as she could down the street in a strange neighborhood.

Heartbroken Ron went to Tanya's place and the two made flyers and distributed them all over the area. They also talked to people in the area.
