Scott Hadley brings us this design from sunny Mexico:

I have a design I just tried out for grabbing insulators. I call it the skirt chaser because it is a thin two-pronged claw with a trigger at the end of it. It is really for reaching objects when somebody cant get up. I duct tape that to a pole and can make extensions with those rings you can tighten with a screw. I activate the trigger with a rope tied to the trigger and it works really well getting under the skirt as it were and twisting the insulator loose.
