Description
SB. Two bubbles on top of "bottom" flange, inside WG. Annealing cracks top and bottom, around hole. No significant "punch out". Rusty circle around bottom pinhole, some rust in hole. Non-reported CD? Perhaps foreign, perhaps Hemingray made?
Story
Karl sent about 10-15 insulators he had picked up when he and Apryl went to Bristol, TN for the race in 2008. Saw a number of flea markets and such and thought of me, so picked up a few. He never sent them up to me (too much weight, fragile), but Mama delivered after going down for the reuniion and picking them up. Ian had a blast snagging ones for his collection, but I was interested in the HEMINGRAY - 45s with the Number - 38. over the MADE IN USA, and when the spool popped out I grabbed that. Asked Bill, then Bob / Dario / Bob / Shaun / Don, and no one could ID it. Will take it to Chicago for an up close and person inspection.
