Story
Well, this is interesting.  Sam called me this afternoon, to ask about a couple insulators at an antique store she was at.  "It says Brookfield and is green".  Ok, no idea, but probably nothing (it turned out to be an aqua 152).  "And there's a Mickey Mouse that says Columbia."  Um, what?  Just Columbia?  "Yes, just Columbia.  Oh, the guy says it's a roman helmet."  That doesn't help any.  Do you mean Cable?  "No, Columbia."  If it says Columbia, then it's a Cd 263.  "Oh, yeah, that's what the label says."  Great, $125 or so value probably.  Does it have threads on the inside of the skirt?  "Um, I don't think so.  It also says June 17, 1890 and Aug 19, 1890."  What?  There's no Columbia with those dates!  "Oh, and it says Oakman Mfg, Boston." Ah!  Now we know what we are looking at.  They are asking $95, and it has a fracture/bruise and isn't "clean" looking.  Knowing the guy knew it was a 263, and knowing it had at least some damage, I was unsure and Sam was loathe to buy it without knowing for sure.  Guess I have a trip to take soon to figure out what she was looking at!
