Attached is a photo of my grabber. It is simply an old rubber strap that holds up the air hose on train cars.
Attach it in any manner to form a loop that can be pulled down over the insulator and turned to get tough ones loose. Most of the time I just bump the skirt of the insulator with the outside of the loop and spin them off.
The copper tube can hold a sapling for that extra high glass. The sapling will usually catch under the skirt and spin the glass then lift it off and to the ground.
